Aesthetic Group Gymnastics

Aesthetic group gymnastics is a team sport in which 6 to 14 gymnasts create a synchronised routine without apparatus. Every programme tells a story – through smooth movement, dynamics and expression. Bulgaria is a world champion in this discipline. And our gymnasts are European Championship finalists and multiple national and international champions.
TEAM SPORT
Routines are performed by a group of 6 to 14 gymnasts – without apparatus, using only the body. That's also an advantage: more children can take an active part in competitions.
PROGRAMME
Two programmes: a short one (1:30 min) with compulsory basic elements and a compulsory music style, and a long one (2:30–2:45 min) with a free choice of music and more complex elements that demand serious technique and choreographic invention.
WHO IT'S FOR
8–10 · 10–12 · 12–14 · Juniors · Seniors. Suitable for girls who love working in a team and expressing themselves through movement.
HOW IT'S JUDGED
A judging panel assesses the team's technique, quality of performance and artistry under the International Code of Points for aesthetic group gymnastics.
WHERE THEY COMPETE
World and European Championships, Balkan Championships, and international and national tournaments. Bulgaria is among the leading nations in this sport.
