On 2 July 2017, the test for the pre-junior Olympic squad took place. Only gymnasts invited by the Bulgarian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation took part. The girls had to meet standards for strength, speed, endurance, flexibility and coordination, and perform body and apparatus exercises. Only those with an overall mark above very good (5) passed the test.
From TEA Dance Sports Club, Dara Krasteva and Valentina Georgieva, with personal coach Teodora Gramatikova, were invited to take part. Our two graces met the standards, scoring 5.44 and 5.33, and successfully qualified for the pre-junior Olympic squad training camp, to be held at our national teams' base in the Rakovski Hall from 30 August to 03 September.
