Dara Krasteva with the highest score in the Olympic squad

The Coaches' Committee invited promising gymnasts born in 2005–2006, currently members of the Olympic squad, to a camp for observation and an exam. The invitation was accepted by Dara Krasteva, Hristomira Chengizova, Anastasia Stefanova, Sofia Tamakyarska, Rosena Nikolova, Desislava Galionova, Anelia Zhelyazkova, Margarita Vasileva, Karina Dimitrova, Sofia Gateva, Gabriela Dolapchieva, Aleksandra Hristova, Polina Kolarova, Kristina Karcheva, Nora Atanasova and Viktoria Valcheva.

After the exam in apparatus technique, physical qualities, figure, artistry, musicality and motivation, Dara Krasteva showed the best preparation and received the highest score, 11.00. This put her in first place in the Olympic squad exam for gymnasts born in 2005/2006.

Dara is an extremely hard-working and smart gymnast who achieves everything through a lot of effort. Her huge motivation to be good at everything she does helps her achieve good results. In November, Dara will also take the trial for the national junior group.

The Coaches' Committee of the Bulgarian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation held its traditional review for pre-juniors. More than 60 gymnasts from all over the country took the exam; they were invited because the experts had noticed them during the season for good performances at the National Championships or a quality that sets them apart. The committee's standards were high, in step with the high level Bulgarian rhythmic gymnastics is showing right now, and at this stage the gymnasts who came closest to a perfect performance stayed on at the camp. The camp is also the selection for the Olympic squad, whose aims are to raise the gymnasts' sport and technical skills, discuss world trends and the international Code of Points, and increase motivation for top-level sporting excellence.

Two gymnasts from TEA Dance Rhythmic Gymnastics Sports Club also took the exam to join the Olympic squad for those born in 2007/2008.
Gabriela Krastanova and Antonia Nikolova took the first round of the exam. Unfortunately, Gabi fell just short of going through to the second round, and Toni is still young, but we hope she will be even better prepared for this exam next year.

Gabriela Krastanova will also take part in the trial for the national group in November.

Good luck to our girls!
